All faculty and staff are required to review the Return to Campus Guidebook, to adhere to its policies (including the new interim Campus Health and Safety Policy) and guidelines, and to complete the online COVID-19 training video (link available within the guidebook) that reviews campus policies, protocols, and expectations. This training also will cover best practices to prevent the spread of the virus as well as a variety of resources to help keep our community safe. Training must be completed by all faculty and staff, regardless of whether they will be on campus during the spring semester. (We ask that you complete the spring semester training even if you completed the modules for the fall 2020 semester.)

Faculty and staff returning to campus will find physical changes and enhancements geared toward maximizing the health and safety of our entire campus community in accordance with state guidelines. Where possible, staff will work in staggered on-campus schedules. Other changes include the rearrangement of offices and classrooms to ensure proper social distancing, the installation of plexiglass dividers in appropriate service areas, signage with information regarding protocol for the use and capacities of specific spaces, and access to disinfectant wipes and sanitizers.


Faculty who would like to return to campus for research and scholarly activity may do so in accordance with the TCNJ Guidelines for Resumption of On-campus Scholarly Activity. Pursuant to the college’s Flexible Work Arrangements Policy, the Office of Academic Affairs will approve the request of any faculty member (full time, adjunct, temporary, or other) to perform their duties through telecommuting (remote work) in spring 2021.


Department supervisors, in consultation with cabinet members and Facilities Management (the latter regarding space occupancy levels), will determine which functions within an area require employees to work according to each of the following scenarios:

  • In-person, on-campus work is necessary.
  • Work can be completed by working from home.
  • A staggered schedule of work from home and on-campus work is necessary.

Pursuant to the college’s Flexible Work Arrangements Policy, where possible and agreed to by both the employee and the supervisor, staff members may arrange for telecommuting or flextime scheduling this spring. Those who have young children at home or are caring for sick relatives should talk with their supervisor regarding the availability of telecommuting for their job function.

Technology Support

Faculty and staff who need additional technology to continue to work from home should contact the Information Technology Help Desk at 609.771.2660 or by email to request loaner technology items. IT staff are available to provide on campus support.

Official Vehicles

All personal campus work vehicles will be stocked with disinfectant wipes. Users will wipe down all surfaces after each shift or prior to another employee driving the vehicle.

Campus pool vehicles and those used by athletics and the Bonner Program will also be stocked with disinfectant wipes. Drivers are responsible for wiping down all surfaces, including seats and armrests, when occupants leave the vehicle.

Vans that typically hold 12 passengers will be limited to four people, including the driver.

Signs are important safety tools. Please do not tamper with or move any signs. Please request any additional QR codes via email. Several options are available to download, print, and post around campus as needed.
